Beautiful places to visit

Douglas, the Island’s capital, is the largest town situated on the east coast. A popular transport hub and foodie scene, where bustling quayside meets traditional seaside resort. Next stop on the east coast is Laxey, a picturesque village home to a ruby red wheel – a beacon of its thriving mining past.

Heading north you’ll find Ramsey, the Island’s second largest town sheltered against the magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule hills. Home to masses of sand and shingle beach, it’s the go to place to catch a stunning sunrise.

Aptly named ‘Sunset City’, Peel in the west is where you’ll catch, you guessed it, the most extraordinary sunsets. Here you’ll discover a Viking fortress, history in abundance and the best seafood and ice cream on the Island.

Glorious beaches, fascinating heritage and impressive walking trails can be discovered in the south. Here you’ll find Castletown, the Island’s ancient capital, home to one of the best preserved medieval castles in the British Isles. Port Erin, owner of the best beach on the Island, where locals and visitors alike flock to on a sunny day. And Port St Mary, a busy harbour village with stunning views out to see, where seals are waiting to greet you as they bask on the small rocky islet known as the Calf of Man.

Our seabound kingdom, home to epic landscapes, rich in heritage and folklore is the perfect background to Island discovery.
